Chamber elects 2008-09 board By Cortni Ruth 16.OCT.08 “The object for which the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce is formed is to promote and perpetuate the business, commercial, manufacturing and civic interests and the general welfare and prosperity of Talkeetna and its environs; and to stimulate public interest to these ends; to advance the industry of said area; to develop a uniform public spirit, whereby we may put forth maximum effort in the aid of our area and to make it more prosperous, more beautiful and a better place in which to live, and to perpetuate the Talkeetna lifestyle.”
This is straight from the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce’s rules and bylaws.
During the annual kickoff banquet and meeting on Oct. 17 at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, many topics were covered toward these ends during the five-course meal. Elected to the board were Todd Kingery of Fishbone Charters, Geri Denkewalter of Talkeetna Aero Services and Fly Denali, Gale Moses of the Alaska Pioneer Press, and Suzy Kellard of Talkeetna Gifts and Collectibles. Tennelle Peterson of the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge took over as treasurer earlier this year. [more]Palin joins McCain ticket
